[is sprawled out on one of the pews in the church, turning his head to one side and groaning before blinking his eyes open and slowly trying to sit up, one hand pressed to his head] I've really gotta stop entering buildings through the roof . . .

[blinks again and frowns, studying the church interior] Hang on a sec. This isn't Aeris' church . . . [carefully stands up and looks around, hands on his hips and starting to look warier by the second]

[looks around as he steps inside and whistles. At least this Template provides nice places to live.]

Would you like anything? [She sets her basket down on the coffee table, she could take care of the flowers in a moment.]

[She heads into the kitchen, and you can hear her rummaging in the cupboards for a glass.] Quite a few people, actually. Nanaki's staying in the laundry cove with a young lady named Rinoa. A young lady named Dahlia in the upper cove, and there's two other people in my cove, Ilya and Haseo.

What're they like?

I don't really know much of Ilya or Haseo, I don't see them often. Rinoa's very energetic and lively, but I haven't spoken with her yet, as we just recently moved in. I haven't seen Dahlia much, either, as I've either been out a lot or staying in my room working on the flowers. Nanaki is...well, he's Nanaki.

I like it, it's different, but not bad.

From the looks of it, yes. It seems like they've been assigning all the newcomers living spaces as soon as they arrive. You'll probably get an assignment as well.

I suppose. I don't have the money for that, yet. I had to go out and buy Nanaki a whole wardrobe so he didn't run around naked all the time. Convincing him clothes were necessary was a little difficult.

Why'd you ask? [She looks up at him as she hands him his glass of water.] Planning something?

Maybe. [smiles secretively and takes the water with a thanks] Do they charge rent?

Not in these houses, they assigned us living spaces, and give us a monthly allowance for basic needs.

Guess I'll just have to wander around until I find wherever they've assigned me.

I'm not sure the officials had anything to do with us ending up here, they seem to think of us as a bit of a nuisance.

[sighs dramatically and shakes his head with a shrug] There's just no pleasing anybody.

You can bet I will, kitten. [calls her by his old pet name for her without thinking, reaching out to teasingly tug on a lock of her hair]

[She grins and cocks her head.] 'Fraid not.

[At the 'kitten' comment, Aerith flushes a deep shade of pink and startles a little at the tugging. She tries to hide it by rubbing the bridge of her nose and glancing away. It's been so long since anyone called her by a pet name, she's feeling oddly flustered.]

[His own Aeris hadn't been quite so shy, and the dissonance strikes at him, causing him to pull away rather than tease her more. Still, he can't help his fingers lingering on her hair as he does so.]

Guess I'd better look for my name on a house if I want to move in by dark. You staying here?

[She glances at his hand then his face, the color still dusting her cheeks.]

Might want to. Would you like me to come with you?

[scratches the back of his head]

You know this place better than I do. But I don't want to drag you around if you've got something to do.

[She laughs, shaking her head.] No, I don't have anything to do.

[proudsoldier]

[smiles and reaches for her hand] Then yeah.

[Takes his hand, giving it a slight squeeze.] Then let's go.

[Smile widens, and he laces fingers with hers before heading for the door again. Looks up and down the street as they step outside.]

[When they stop, she shifts towards him as she looks both ways, lips quirking as she thinks. Coming to a decision, she smiles, looking up at him.]
